His Holiness

Something I read awhile ago that's been stuck in my head:

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, was asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered that:

"Man (Human being).  Because one sacrifices one's health in order to make money.  Then one sacrifices money to recuperate his/her health.  And then one is so anxious about the future that he/she does not enjoy the present; the result being that one does not live in the present or the future; one lives as if he/she is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."
